SIC ceramic filter membrane – Pure SIC filter membrane
Water treatment membranes made of silicon carbide possess characteristics such as high hardness, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high flux, and high hydrophilicity. Their flux can reach 100 times that of traditional organic membrane materials and 3-5 times that of ordinary ceramic membranes.
Silicon carbide membranes are manufactured using a 2300℃ sintering process. During sintering, the sintering necks between silicon carbide clusters undergo a solid-gas-solid phase transition, resulting in an opening ratio exceeding 45%. The formed filtration channels have strong connectivity, and combined with the excellent hydrophilicity of silicon carbide itself (contact angle of only 0.3°), this allows for a pure water flux of up to 3000 L/h, while also exhibiting hydrophilic and oleophobic properties.
The isoelectric point of the silicon carbide film is around pH 3, and the surface of the film can maintain negative charge over a wide pH range, improving its pollution resistance.
Excellent chemical stability, capable of working in extreme environments (pH range of 0-14); Rich cleaning plans can be developed based on the characteristics of pollution factors; Oxidants are fully tolerant, including ozone and hydroxyl radicals.

Silicon carbide ceramic powder has stable chemical properties (acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance), and it is hardly etched with any solvent at 1500°C.It has high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, strong hydrophilicity and good wear resistance, high hardness, Mohs hardness of 9.5, second only to the world's hardest diamond (10).
The support layer, transition layer, and separation layer of the silicon carbide film are all made from high-purity (>99.5%) green silicon carbide powder available on the market, without adding any sintering aids. Therefore, it possesses almost all the characteristics of silicon carbide materials.
